This project, Zenith meaning, the time at which something is most powerful or successful.

While thinking about something as being most powerful, I was inspired by my culture. Coming from a diverse country such as India with many different dialects, cultures and languages. Every state having its own cultural aesthetic. Our country is diverse to say the least, but despite that diversity we life in prime unity.

To me, nothing is more powerful as being united in that diversity.

For this project I created a necklace which addresses that diversity through the portrayal of the different Indian aesthetics in all of India’s various states. The different Indian patterns (indicating the pattern aesthetics of the various Indian doors in all of the different states of India) is something I created in a water-color painting labeled Vistas, I thereafter UV printed panels of wood with Vistas’ patterns. I then engraved on the circular structures various letterforms set in Hindi (our universal Indian language) using a laser cutting machine.

Through this necklace I wanted to create not only diversity, but the stringing together of the necklace to create unity aswell. India- we stand for Unity In Diversity.
